A Bridesmaid's Dilemma

If you ever looked for a wishing well for a bridal shower, baby shower or any event, chances are you've seen the generic wedding chests and flimsy cardboard "wells" sold at party and craft stores. Or wishing wells that are simply tulle-and-ruffle covered boxes.  And on and on... I know, because as a bridesmaid to a very dear friend, I volunteered to take care of the wishing well for her bridal shower.

I immediately started searching for a well  I could purchase and then personalize for her.  Finally, after weeks of frustration, I threw up my hands and said "Bleep bleep, I'm just going to BUILD it!" With a little planning and a lot of head scratching, I managed to build and decorate a little wooden well that mirrored the colors of my friend's beautiful fall wedding. She loved it, her guests loved it, and to my great pride, the happy bride used the well on her big day as a cardholder and a lovely statement piece at the reception.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
